Stay at the farm in an atmospheric log building
At Ylä-Tuuhonen Farm, you can stay in a refurbished traditional chamber that emanates the warm atmosphere of days gone by. History blends seamlessly with all modern amenities, making your stay with us cosy and comfortable.
Several generations have looked after the farm and its buildings. The buildings have been renovated with natural materials, honouring traditional styles, and ensuring the health and natural preservation of the stucture.
Cosy guesthouse rooms and charming converted storehouses will remind you of days gone by, and invite you to enjoy a restful night’s sleep. You can find detailed descriptions and photos of our accommodation from individual links, together with the booking conditions and prices. We have special pricing for holidays, such as Midsummer and Christmas.
Our accommodation rates include bed linen and towels. In addition, our two-night accommodation includes one hour of sauna. In summer, the farm’s lakeside saunas, the log sauna and the barrel sauna, are in use. In winter, you can enjoy the courtyard’s Saunatupa sauna. Sauna times are agreed in advance with the farm staff.
You can also book our traditional smoke sauna in summer and enjoy the gentle heat and the smell like no other.
We warmly welcome you to relax at our farm!
FARM ACCOMMODATION ALL THE YEAR ROUND
The Eetula Guesthouse
Located in the farm courtyard, our Eetula guesthouse has been named after a former owner of the farm. Eetula has three separate rooms and shared facilities. The shared facilities include a main room, a kitchen with all mod cons and three toilets, two of which have showers. If you wish, you can also rent the entire guesthouse, as a cottage, for yourself.
Step into the farm’s old granary! The two-storey Makasiiniaitta accommodates 2–5 guests, and also welcomes pets. The granary has its own shower room with a toilet, and a farmhouse kitchen is at your disposal in the adjacent Saunatupa building.
SUMMER STOREHOUSE CABINS
in use from May to early autumn
In Finnish, the names of our storehouse cabins indicate what was stored in them in the old days. We have sought to maintain these cabins in their original state, which means that in terms of modern amenities they only have a small window, electricity, and a radiator. If you are staying in one of the cabin, you can use the farmhouse kitchen, toilets and showers in the Saunatupa building.
The Aittarivi
The attractive Aittarivi storehouse cabins are located right in the farm’s courtyard, approximately 60 metres from the Saunatupa.
Rätti and Ryysy
Rättiaitta and Ryysyaitta are located on the other side of our small village road, in our farm’s environmentally-managed area, about 100 metres from the Saunatupa. Please notice that the parking is at the courtyard and there isn’t parking at our environmentally-managed area, near the cabins.
"What a beautiful farm, what a beautiful evening. Staying with you was my favorite memory of Finland. I felt like a long-lost cousin returning home, and I can't wait to come back. Kiitos to you for your warmth and generosity!"
