At Ylä-Tuuhonen Farm, you can stay in a peasant-style chamber emanating the warm atmosphere of days gone by. History blends seamlessly together with all modern amenities, making your stay with us cosy and comfortable.
Several generations have looked after the farm and its buildings. The buildings have been renovated with natural materials, honouring traditions, which ensures they are healthy and breath properly.
Chambers with a cosy atmosphere and charming storehouse cabins that remind you of days gone by invite you to enjoy a restful night’s sleep at our farm. You can find more detailed descriptions and photos of our accommodation from their own sites together with the booking situation and prices. We have special pricing for holidays, such as Midsummer and Christmas.
Our accommodation rates include bed linen and towels. In addition, our two-day accommodation includes one hour of sauna in one of our appointed saunas. In the summer, the farm’s lakeside saunas, the log sauna and the barrel sauna, are in use. In the winter, you can enjoy the courtyard’s Saunatupa’s sauna. Sauna times are always agreed upon in advance with the farm staff. You can also ask to try out the farm’s traditional smoke sauna.
We warmly welcome you to relax at the farm!

Guesthouse Eetula
Located in the farm courtyard, guesthouse Eetula has been named after the farm’s old master. Eetula has three separate chambers and shared facilities. The shared facilities include a main room, a kitchen with all mod cons and three bathrooms, two of which have showers. If you so wish, you can also rent the entire guesthouse, like a cottage, for yourself.
Step into the farm’s old granary! The two-storey Makasiiniaitta accommodates 2–5 guests, and also welcomes pets. The granary has its own bathroom with a toilet, and a farmhouse kitchen is at your disposal in the adjacent Saunatupa building.
SUMMER CABINS
Summer cabins are in use from May to early autumn. In Finnish, the names of our storehouse cabins tell stories of what was stored in them at the farm in the old days. We have strived to maintain the summer storehouse cabins in their original state, which means that of modern amenities, they only have a small window, electricity, and a radiator. If you are staying in a storehouse cabin, you can use the farmhouse kitchen, bathrooms, and showers in the Saunatupa building.
Aittarivi
The sympathetic Aittarivi storehouse cabins are located right in the farm’s courtyard, approximately 60 metres from Saunatupa.
Rätti ja Ryysy
Rättiaitta and Ryysyaitta are located on the other side of our small village road, in our farm’s traditional biotope, around 100 metres from Saunatupa.
"What a beautiful farm, what a beautiful evening. Staying with you was my favorite memory of Finland. I felt like a long-lost cousin returning home, and I can't wait to come back. Kiitos to you for your warmth and generosity!"
